A Little Bit About Me

As my first post, and to introduce my blog, I thought I'd talk a bit about myself and what lead me to this little space. My name is Jordyn Trollip and I live in Ballito, South Africa. I'm currently in my last year of teenage-dom (eek) and I created this blog to talk about and share some of the things that I love! I also adore reading and writing, so this extra hobby seemed apt.

I also love dance, which I've been doing since I was three years old. My favourite genre is burlesque, which I now teach at my dance studio. One of the best feelings in the world is being on stage or choreographing the perfect dance, and I hope to share some of this part of my life here.

I also love watching movies and series, eating food (I'm a massive foodie, thanks to my family), being in the sun (I have very convincing evidence that I'm actually part reptilian), bathing and I'm super interested in beauty, decor and fashion, all of which will make some appearance on my little internet space!

After I finished high school, I went to Stellenbosch University to do a BA in Humanities. Although I met some lovely people there and enjoyed living near Cape Town (wine galore!), I found my degree boring and unchallenging. In something I thought I'd find passion in, I had no interest in at all. After a tough year trying to figure out my next move, what will make me happy and who I'm meant to be, I decided to take a gap year and go back to my hometown, Ballito.

So, now I'm working part time at a magazine company as a copy editor (I love everything about English) and dancing and teaching at my old dance studio. Between all of this, I'm trying to figure what I love and what will keep me happy for years to come, and how to turn this into a career! I hope my blog will allow me to explore and share the things I adore and am passionate about, and (hopefully) write some pieces that are interesting for you to read!
