Because most of this winter has and will be spending time confined to our homes, I was excited to get my hands on some comfy clothes to spend the days lying around in. During the boredom of being in isolation (although I tried to avoid it) I hopped over to the Cotton On online store, which had a crazy sale on most of their stock. I found some great things that I'd love to share! Before we jump into it, I want to make a note that I am big busted (adored by others, often hated by those with it), so I really want the clothing I share on here to reflect an experienced, but no where near perfect, attempt to compliment the somewhat disproportional features of my body, and hopefully give some other larger busted girls tips on how to dress with this weird but wonderful feature! All of the items are a size medium except for the black, oversized sweatshirt which is a size small.
I've heard people rave about Cotton On's new seamfree underwear selection, so that's the first thing I added to my cart. I got one of each type (g-string, brasiliano, boyleg and bikini), all in different colours. They're so comfortable and definitely worth the hype. What I love the most is the high cut options, which I find so perfect as most of my shorts or pants/jeans are a high-waisted cut.
I then got three different long-sleeved tops. First is a cropped, grey, bishop sleeve, square neck knit top from Factorie (this will look great with baggy jeans!). I feel a square neck is so flattering for my bust. The next two shirts were a black high neck top and a grey, waffle, scoop neck top with a few buttons. I ended up actually returning these to the store as I felt they didn't fit me quite right under my arms (this is major problem I experience with shirts). Photos are above for anyone that is interested in them.
I exchanged the two shirts for a white, ripped neck short sleeve shirt (it is also slightly chopped) and an oversized, black tee. I believe in having closet essentials, and this black top is a must-have. I either full or partially tuck it into jeans or shorts. A problem I have often and that the cropped white top is guilty of is fitting snuggly over my bust but being too loose around my waist and stomach. To curb this I usually pair these types of shirts with high-waisted skinny jeans so that my waist is more defined under the looser top. With the purchase I had to get a tin of Cotton On Foundation Sugar Free Mints. I got the peach flavour but the watermelon is also so yummy!
The next thing I added to my cart was matching sweats. My first pair was from Factorie - a black, oversized sweater and sweatpants (cuffed at the ankle). I've been wearing them together at home, pairing the sweatpants with crop tops or pairing the top with ripped skinny jeans. They are quite thick, so they're perfect for colder winter days (not that that happens a lot here).
The second pair is in a colour called 'cloud dancer' from Cotton On. The sweater has balloon sleeves, which I'm obsessed with, and the sweatpants are high waisted, which I'm also obsessed with. These are made of a lighter fabric which makes them easier to wear in this climate, and I find myself wearing both the pants and sweater out more often than the black set.
I also gave in to the not-so-new trend of wearing bike shorts with oversized sweaters and tops, and picked up a black pair. I wear it often to dance in, to workout in or out with sneakers and my new oversized black sweater. I also went into the store the other day and bought a pair of cream, high-waisted, paperbag jeans (which was on the sale rack for only R300!). They are so comfortable and I love the colour (the picture just doesn't do it justice).
So that's all I've picked up! Please share what you've been loving this winter, and maybe some other boobilicious clothing tips for winter fashion!
Love always.
